Welcome to my very first Blog Post!!!

It is such a strange thing for me to say...my own Blog Post!!

Hello Everyone,

WHOA!! I'm still getting my head around that. :) The last few months have been a whole new adventure, in a world very out of my comfort zone. I find it hard to believe that I would ever be writing a Blog. Or having my own Website. I've barely looked at Instagram and now I have my own page!! I am a bit blown away by all this newness, but eager to get going! :) Who knew I would eventually wander down this path?? Life is full of surprises, and it sure does keep you on your toes. I have learned that no matter how much you think you have your life figured out, something comes along to keep you on your toes or to teach you a lesson. I say "Bring It On"!! I guess one CAN teach an old dog new tricks!!! So let's get started shall we?

My intention with this Blog is to entertain, educate, and experiment. I want to use this space as a place for you to get to know me as an artist, and understand my art and process a little better. I'm not going to get all "touchy feely". That is not my style. :) You won't be reading any juicy gossip about my personal life or my daily laments. I'll save those for my long suffering friends and family!! LOL!!! This is going to be a fun and positive place to be!!!

I'd like to show you pictures of my Studio and me at work. With all the mess I make in my Studio and on my person, it may take me a while to be brave enough to show that side of me!!! In the meantime, I think it may be interesting to share with you how my art comes to be. This isn't going to be a "How-To". A Girl has to have a few secrets, after all. :) I am going to share just how much love and effort goes into making my work. I think you may be surprised!!

I love to experiment with my Art. To be completely candid, the experiments are NOT always a success. I have fallen on my face MANY times. I've learned a lot, but boy did I fail!!! I am not shy sharing this with all of you. I am merely human. Deeply flawed at times, but I have no intention of pretending I'm perfect. So, come along with me for the ride and we will see if I have done something great and we can celebrate together. Or watch me fail and we can laugh at the silliness of it all. LIfe is messy. May as well enjoy the ride, right? :) Who knows what we may discover along the way!!

As for the entertaining part, well I sincerely hope reading about my adventures in Art will be fun and funny, in and of itself!!! There may be day's I'm not nearly as entertaining. Again, I'm not trying to pretend I'm perfect. Warts and all will be on display. Art can frustrate me and bring out a temporary funk, but there is always another day to dust ones self off and try again. As long as I am breathing, I will make art. For better and yes, for the worse!! LOL!!!

Expect to see lots of pictures and eventually, I'd like to try my hand at making small videos if I have an especially interesting experiment going on. Or some other groovy idea I think would benefit from being rather seen than read about. I have not yet decided how often I will publish my Blog. I'd like to try to be consistently regular. Not quite sure what that will mean just yet. I will figure it out as I go along. Also, please do feel free to ask questions, suggest topics, and be a part of this!! You never know, I may be inspired to do a piece of work based on your idea. Or learn something new by trying to answer your question with a good experiment. I am doing this Blog for YOU, after all. :) Jump in and let's do this together!!!
